Well, there is no doubting that Christmas is on its way. I feel truly excited for this year. Brian is really excited and at the perfect age. He totally gets it, he’s excited and he’s been participating in every part with an enthusiasm only a child could have. Decorating the tree, hanging the lights, playing in the snow, watching Christmas movies, and listening to Christmas songs. My husband and I both worked jobs for many years that had the Muzack playing. You know, the recycled music with no commercials. Well, the day after Thanksgiving, as you well know, the Christmas music starts! Over and over again, every day the Christmas music…the same songs recycled……INSANITY WILL SOON FOLLOW. So, needless to say we usually do not switch our dials over to the radio station that is playing all Christmas music, all the time. But this year has been different. I’ve been changing over to that station for the kids. I find myself consciously thinking about traditions and all the things I want to do, do for my kids, have for my kids….things I want them to experience for Christmas, and the season in general. With every song that comes on they are excited. They scream it at me as we’re driving along…”mom its a Christmas song!” “Mom, they are singing about Santa,” “Mom, it’s jingle bells,” which by the way is every song with the jingle bell sound in it.
So, as we get ready to travel to our families this Christmas, I have my presents all packed up in my reusable Wal-Mart bags, my gingerbread and cookie sets ready, the kids clothes are packed, mine are ready to be put in the duffle bag and I’m busy racking my brain trying to decide if there is anything missing. I hope you all enjoy this holiday season. For us its Christmas, and more importantly, the true meaning of Christams. The birth of our Lord Jesus Christ! I hope that in the end I’ve done my job as a parent, and not gotten too caught up in Christmas and presents, that I’ve stopped to really enstill the true meaning of Christmas in my children…with the help, of course, of my fisher price, Little People, Nativity Set.
Merry Christmas!!!

As adults, I feel that Christmas comes to life for us through the eyes of a child! Having my children excited about Christmas brings back such fond memories of Christmas when I was a child. They help us remember the excitement of the season!
