The Legend of Kung Fu Rabbit is another great film brought to you by Lionsgate. We here in the Cammo Love house are big fans of anything martial arts related right now. My two oldest are in Tae Kwon Do, so we have been spending some time checking out board breaking and the like on YouTube. The story is sweet and it definitely teaches the lessons of honesty and perseverance. But what I really liked about the film was the animation. It seemed more like a beautifully written storybook in the an animated feature. It looked more like it was hand-painted, rather then stark computer animation. The colors are beautiful, especially in the dream sequence. My eight year old wasn’t as interested in this as my almost five year daughter was.
There is martial arts violence and use of weaponry. The Dove Foundation (which this film gave its seal of approval) recommends this film for 12+. You can visit the Dove Foundation’s website to see a more broken down description of why they suggested the age range. It is very comparable to many other animated films out there, so the rating seems a little high in my opinion.
