Sunday Social w/ Ashley & Neely

Sunday Social

1. What is your favorite social media outlet?
That’s such a tough one, because I feel like I have such a love/hate relationship with all, or most of them.  I love facebook for the keeping in touch thing…and as a military family that gift is priceless.  But I really love twitter..see who’s following me (i’ve been known to flip out with excitement over people following me), write back and forth, twitter parties.  It can be a ton of fun!

2. Do you subscribe to any daily new reads? If so, which ones?
I subscribe to so many blogs…I can’t get through them in one day but I really try to read as many as possible.  Sometimes I forget to, or can’t comment because I just want to read everyone’s awesomeness!  I have a whole blog roll section tab up top that I feel like I add to every day and it just keeps getting longer and longer, but I just wanna share the love.  So check it out.  If I love it, its’ mostly likely in there πŸ™‚
3. What is your favorite magazine to have by the pool?
I am such a girl when it comes to this…I love all the regular stuff…People, Life and Style, In Touch, Cosmo..all those magazines I never subscribe too and barely have time to read!

4. What is your favorite summertime song?
Whenever I think about summertime songs I usually go back to significant summers in my life….Backstreet Boys, I want it that way, was so my summer song when it came back and I just think of fun summerness whenever I hear it.  Also, All American Rejects…in my convertible, blaring “Last Song”……ahhhhh, memories!

Come on….click them…you know you wanna dance!!

5. What is the best summer concert you’ve been to?
K, people…not gonna lie…it was Backstreet Boys…Never Gone..with my BFF, my mom and sister! Outdoor concert..it was so much fun.  We were sooooooo old, but so were most of the other girls. I was reliving my high school days.

Sunday Social

Thanks again to Ashley and Neely for another great Sunday.

1. What is your shopping weakness?

That feels like such a complicated question, even though I know it should be, LOL!  I feel like anytime I’m in Target its my weakness.  Shoes and purses for abso-positively sure though.  But I love clothes in general.  I just wish I had more money to spend.  But, don’t we all.

2. What is your food weakness?

It’s funny you should ask.  I just started a Paleo Challenge.  I’m pretty sure its similar to the Whole30, but I think its slightly more intense the first week and stuff.  My amazing neighbor is doing it to win a free membership to a crossfit gym she joined with a groupon.  So, I decided to do it with her.  She makes everything for the most part.  I’ve contributed here and there to the pantry and make dinner for my kids and her son (they get to eat real food).  I feel like right now everything is my food weakness.  I’m dying for a soda right now, even though I wouldn’t have considered myself addicted before.  I think just in general I’m craving bread and cheese man.  But I’m getting through it.  Already lost more weight then I thought I would.

3. What is your go to movie to watch when nothing is on?
 I’ve got a couple I will pop in….

Sleepless in Seattle, While You Were Sleeping and He’s Just Not that Into You

I’ve also been known to pop in Gilmore Girls and Seinfeld

4. What is your go to breakfast food?

Probably instant oatmeal or toast with Peanut Butter on it.  Quick and easy for my crazy mornings.  Can’t live without my coffee!  Now that I’m on this diet its eggs for sure, anyway you wanna make ’em, I’ll eat ’em!

5. Do you drink coffee? If so, how do you take it?

As per the last question, Yes…yes and yes!  I take it with a little bit milk and sugar…these days I’m using Almond Milk πŸ™‚  I wasn’t going to give up my coffee yo!

Can’t wait to read everyone’s answers this week!  Hopefully there’s some more coffee addicts out there.

Sunday Social

1. What is your favorite thing about spring?
Probably just the fact that it’s getting warmer (at least its supposed to be – here it’s supposed to snow some time today).  Cute dresses and skirts, sandals and all that fun stuff.  Easter is also pretty fun.  How cute are these guys?
2. What is your favorite kind of flower to grow or receive?
I have grown Sunflowers and tulips and stuff….I love to receive Roses…I’m a classic romantic.  Although I love purple ones.  Last spring we grew a sunflower (my son did) and it was a lot of fun.  I want to do more this year.
3. What is your favorite nail polish color?
I’m really nail polish obessed!  Seriously.  Bright colors, classic colors, funky designs.  I paint my nails (toes and fingers) every week.
Come try Julep!  Its so awesome.  I’ve skipped  months here and there, no problem. I absolutely love it! This month this is what I’m getting!

4. What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Being outside with my kids in our backyard is my favorite.  We have a fabulous backyard and a deck and I’m really excited for BBQs and having friends over.  Pulling out the kiddie pool and the slip n slide and experiencing Phillip outside this summer, fully mobile.  So fun.
5. Do you have any fun spring plans? Details! πŸ™‚
When it definitely is Spring weather I want to take some day trips around the area.  We went to Williamsburg, but there’s so much I want to do.  Hubby won’t be around much so I’d really like to take advantage of some outdoor fun with him before it gets too humid around here.  I wish I had some amazing details to share, but solidifying details well in advance isn’t really how we roll around here.
Can’t wait to read everyone’s posts!  Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks to the hosts – Ashely and Neely
1. What is the best Valentine’s Day you’ve ever had?
That’s a hard one, but I think one of my most favorite’s was when my hubby (then he was my boyfriend) took me to the hard rock cafe’ (which sad to say isn’t there anymore) and then we went to meet my mom and her best friend at this old theater in the downtown area and watched “All About Eve” on the big screen.  Its an old black and white, Bette Davis movie.  I mean, what teenage boy would take his girlfriend to see that?!  Well, one that I would still be with like 14 years later or something.
2. What is the worst Valentine’s Day you’ve ever had?
I don’t know that i can specifically think of one that was the worst…..I mean, there’s been a few times the hubby has been gone, but he’s a master date planner (I think he should teach a class or something).  So when we are together he does a really great job.

3. What did you do for Valentine’s this year?
We went to Ruth Chris’ (never been, very impressed) and Bon Jovi…yup Bon Jovi!!  major freak out moment here!  I’m a product of my childhood and my mom and and raised me on 80s area rock…so there you go.  I’ve seen Def Leppard twice!  My first concert was when I was seriously like 8 months old, at an outdoor area…I saw Kansas πŸ™‚  LOL!

4. What is your best Valentine’s idea if you’re single?
I think that I would get some girlfriend’s together, go out, get some drinks, see a movie….I’ve done that when the hubby’s gone before.  The best thing you can do, in my opinion, is go out and have fun and stop thinking about it πŸ™‚

5. What is your favorite Valentine’s candy?
Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups – heart shaped of course πŸ™‚

6. Favorite Valentine’s memory from your childhood?
Wow, this is a great question, but I seriously don’t know that I have one?  I can’t wait to read people’s answers if they do.

The Sunday Social, Week 35

Sunday Social

Happy Sunday Ya’ll!  A whole week has flown by again.  Mr. Air Force has been back to work, after some much needed leave time.  The time he’s been back to work has gone by fast, which is great.  Little craziness has ensued, however the first day was a little rough.  I was majorly spoiled…but it was like 6 years of pent up needing him around for an extended period of time.  So happy!  Hoping a new frame of mind is coming after this little mini-reset.  If you’re are looking for a fun, and super cute V-DAY gift, check out the my review for SHMILY coins!  Super Cute!
Now, onto the fun.  If you haven’t done a Sunday Social you really should!

1. If you were stuck on an island what are the two material items you would want to have?
That’s rough.  I’ve never good at this question, like seriously never.  I feel like if I had a tv and an endless supply of sweet tea it would be amazing.  However, having my Bible around would probably really help me during the rough spots of being stuck on an island.  Maybe some lip gloss too?  See, I told you I was terrible at this game, LOL!

2. What are two TV shows you’d watch over and over
Seinfeld and Gilmore Girls….I can’t really ever get enough, and I currently watch them over and over and OVER again!
3. If your house was on fire what two things aside from family, pets, etc would you grab?
Well since I have an Eagle Scout and Military man for a husband we have one of those fabulous fire safes so all pictures and stuff would be well protected.  I would probably grab my jewelry box and my Christening dress I have displayed.

4. What are your two most favorite articles of clothing?
Currently my grey boyfriend sweater and my Old Navy ACTIVE compression pants, so lame right?

5. What two movies that you saw in the past year would you recommend to us?
Hands down Argo and Lincoln!  I’m so mad that Argo is getting the snub from the Academy Awards…you can’t have too many pro-CIA movies in one year right; and Zero Dark Thirty is way cooler.  I was so happy when Argo won at the Golden Globes.  We usually rate movies on whether or not we would own them.  There are very few movies that make that list these days.  Both of these movies do.

6. What are your two biggest guilty pleasures?
Currently they are Dove Chocolate hearts and Pepsi.  I’ve been working out and watching what I eat, but every now and then I cave compeltely!!  I try not to deprive myself because that can only lead to bad things

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great Sunday!!
