Disney’s Frozen…even the bad guys are pretty

Happy Saturday Ya’ll!!  To celebrate I have the trailer for Disney’s Frozen to check out.  I’ve been excited for another Disney animated movie; and this one looks fun!

FROZN_009_USA.jpg
Today when I was scanning the news I saw the headline for an article about the movie, and how we have our first bad Disney princess.  For the life of me I can’t find it (if you find it leave me the link), and now I’m wondering what they were saying.  There isn’t usually a pretty bad guy, this is true.  But it remains to be seen what Disney will do with this.  I’m not up in arms about it, I mean bad guys come in all shapes and sizes.  They aren’t always some ogre or evil witch, living in the forest.  This particular bad guy just happens to be the equally as pretty sister of our heroine (voiced by Kristen Bell).  This looks to be like a great cast, and it is sure to be a great Thanksgiving option for you and your little ones.

Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind “Tangled” and “Wreck It Ralph,” presents “Frozen,” a stunning
big screen comedy adventure.  Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey, teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (voice of Josh Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.
Check out the trailer and have a great weekend!!

I don’t know if it will quite measure up to the my Snow White, Ariel, Aurora or Belle…but I realize that these are ridiculously high standards!  What’s your favorite Disney Princess?

Doc McStuffins is in the house!!!! “Doc Mobile” tour kick-off

Doc McStuffins might not be in your house literally, but she’s in mine.  If you don’t know who Doc McStuffins is she’s an adorable little girl whose toys come to life and help her fix and take care of any toy that needs their help.  In 2012, Doc McStuffins was cable tv’s #1 series for ages 2-5, as well as the #1 TV preschool series in Total Viewers and Woman 18-49 (all those moms out there!).   And to celebrate the shows second season premier, Doc and her friends might be coming to a city near you.  Disney Junior will also be premiering the Doc McStuffins “Doc Mobile” game and other digital activities, on August 30.  Children will be able to create their own doctor avatar, which my daughter will probably go completely nuts for.  The season two premier, will also debut that day in a “special preview” form on the Watch Disney Junior mobile app.  If you haven’t downloaded, you can grab it for free.  When it’s connected to your cable provider you can watch more things.  However, Disney Junior has a couple episodes on there that are free whether you register or not.  The Cammo Style Love house has been known to take advantage of this great app while out and about.  Now, more about the tour:

The Doc Mobile, a 27-foot Airstream trailer custom-made to reach young kids (age 2-7) and families with fun and empowering experiences relating to health and nutrition will embark on a multi-city tour  SUNDAY, AUGUST 18 in Boston. Themed “So Much You Can Do…to Take Care of You!” the initiative is inspired by Disney Junior’s acclaimed “Doc McStuffins,” the animated series that models good health and compassion through stories of a young girl, a would-be doctor, who cares for her ailing stuffed animals and other toys. The Doc Mobile features an area for kids to perform a “check-up” on their own toys plus other activities and age-appropriate health and wellness lessons including nutrition and physical development and fitness.

During the multi-city tour parents and kids will get the opportunity to meet doctors from the Artemis Medical Society, a group of 2500 female African-American doctors that formed their group after seeing themselves in the character of Doc McStuffins.  Their goal to inspire other young girls to pursue their dreams in the medical field.  Make sure to follow along on the tour by liking Disney Junior on Facebook and twitter.  You can already get information on the “Doc Mobile” page of Disney Junior.

*New* Octonauts Toys Review

Hello all!  Hope your weekend was wonderful and I excited to welcome you to another week with a little peak at some brand new Octonauts toys, available at Toys R Us.  We received a couple of toys to try out, and the littles in the Cammo Love house were thrilled beyond belief.  Especially one little miss in particular.

Here are some of the items we received
Perhaps the most loved among the group is the Octopod, the backbone of the Octonauts really.
It sells for $39.99 and features 10 play pieces, phrases and sounds.  It comes with Captain Barnacles and the Gup-A, which is by far the best part of the play set in Ami’s opinion.  The play pieces are cute and made well.  Its perfect for little kid hands and all of them, ages 18 months to 6 love this.  I have a feeling that adding to our little collection will be on future Birthday and Christmas wish lists.

I would also love to add one of these cute books to our collection.   Personally I can’t get enough of these characters.  In a world full of questionable tv for little ones, the Octonauts are wonderful.  They are sweet characters that teach my children how to work together, how to take care of one another and about the ocean.  Ami has picked up quite a bit of knowledge about sea creatures from the show, and I love that!  We then take that and move on to reading books in the library about Orcas, looking up videos on YouTube and checking out the Discovery Channel.
If your kids love the Octonauts then these are the perfect companion, and will most certainly be a success in your household.  One of the most important things I look at when I look at toys for my kids is the interactive qualities of it.  Can I take this toy and expand it beyond just the toy?  Can we talk about it, learn more and use that in our play?  These are the kinds of things that make a great toy and that’s what I think I’ve found in these Octonaut playsets and toys.
Disclaimer: I was provided these toys in exchange for my honest opinion and review.  I was not compensated in any other way.  My thoughts and opinions are my own.

Disney Reveals Planes Full Voice Cast!

August 9th is the big day and I’m super stoked!  Taking the kids to see a movie in the theater is really fun. They are at that perfect age, where they think its the best thing ever.  We always make it an adventure, and it truly is, because I think I can count on one hand the times they’ve seen a movie in the theater.  We are pretty picky about kid movie, and even though I haven’t seen this yet I feel like I can already give it two thumbs up!
Last time I mentioned that Dane Cook was slated to play the main character of the movie, Dusty.

Audiences worldwide are fastening their seatbelts as “Disney’s Planes” prepares to take off this summer. Joining Dane Cook, who provides the voice of Dusty, are Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Teri Hatcher, Cedric the Entertainer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Cleese, Carlos Alazraqui, Priyanka Chopra, Gabriel Iglesias, Roger Craig Smith, Colin Cowherd, Sinbad, Oliver Kalkofe and Brent Musburger.

Adding some high-flying flair from a classic feature film are Anthony Edwards and Val Kilmer.

Inspired by the world of “Cars” and directed by Disneytoon Studios veteran and aviation enthusiast Klay Hall (“King of the Hill,” “The Simpsons”), “Disney’s Planes” is an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure about Dusty’s dream of competing as a high-flying air racer—and his decidedly unfortunate fear of heights.

Stacy Keach (“The Bourne Legacy,” Alexander Payne’s upcoming “Nebraska,” Robert Rodriguez’s and Frank Miller’s “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For”) provides the voice of Skipper, a reclusive old Navy Corsair who takes Dusty’s training to new heights.

·       Brad Garrett (“Everybody Loves Raymond,” “How to Live with Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life”) lends his voice to fuel truck Chug, Dusty’s buddy, coach and biggest fan.
·       Teri Hatcher (“Coraline,” ABC’s “Desperate Housewives”) brings life and charm to the say-it-like-it-is mechanic Dottie.
·       Cedric the Entertainer (“Barbershop,” “Larry Crowne, “Madagascar”) as Leadbottom, a puttering old biplane who has no time for Dusty’s far-fetched flights of fancy.
·       Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Veep,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Seinfeld”) lends her voice to Rochelle, a tough and confident racer who is the pride of the Great White North.
·       John Cleese (TV’s “Whitney,” “A Fish Called Wanda”) is the voice of Bulldog, the oldest and arguably wisest racer on the circuit.
·       Carlos Alazraqui (James Garcia on Comedy Central’s “Reno 911”) brings to life the intensely charming El Chupacabra, a racer with more dramatic flair than is recommended at high altitudes.
·       Priyanka Chopra (“Barfi!”) voices the exotic, mysterious and ruthless Ishani, the reigning Pan-Asian champion from India.
·       Roger Craig Smith (Captain America in Disney XD’s “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble,” voice of Sonic The Hedgehog in “Wreck-It Ralph”) voices world champion racer Ripslinger—wings down, the biggest name in air racing—and he knows it.
·       Gabriel Iglesias (Comedy Central’s “Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-up Revolution”) provides the voices of both Ned and Zed, two not-so-sharp saboteurs who work for Ripslinger.
·       Val Kilmer (“Batman Forever,” “Top Gun”) provides the voice of Bravo, a member of the Jolly Wrenches and a fan of air racing.
·       Anthony Edwards (TV’s “Zero Hour,” “Top Gun”) is the voice of Echo, a member of the Jolly Wrenches and a fan of air racing.
·       Colin Cowherd (ESPN) gives play-by-play coverage as Colin Cowling, an affable blimp and an eye-in-the-sky reporter for the Racing Sports Network.
·       Sinbad (Comedy Central’s “Where U Been?”) brings to life Roper, an irascible race official pitty full of sly remarks and colorful commentary.
·       Oliver Kalkofe (“Neues vom Wixxer”) provides the voice of meek German minicar Franz and his brazen airborne alter ego Fliegenhosen.
·       Brent Musburger (ESPN, ABC Sports) brings Brent Mustangburger, the excitable 1964½ Ford Mustang sports broadcasting icon, back to the big screen.
