Disney Classics CD Set = A Disney Fan’s Heaven on Earth

When I opened the package I was squealing with delight.  I knew what it was, and I was pretty sure I was more excited then my kids were.  Disney has been a part of my life, and is officially my first memory.  When I was three I went to Disney Land for the first time and those are some of my very first memories.  From then on Disney was such a huge part of my life – I’ve been Snow White and Sleeping Beauty for Halloween growing up,  anyone else remember Totally Minnie?  Family nights usually consisted of The Wonderful World of Disney, and I loved my Official Walt Disney World music record (you know the black on with the Electrical Light Parade on the cover) that about two years ago I finally found one on ebay and bought it.  I really wish I could find some of the Disney Encyclopedia books somewhere…they were white and there was a whole series of them.  Just as Disney was a huge part of my childhood, I hope that many treasured memories of my own children are associated with them.

What better way to keep the Disney magic going in our home then with the new Disney Classics box set (available now!).  Pretty much every song you could ever want is included in this set.  It is broken down into four categories: Classic, Modern, TV and Theme Park.  I’m not really sure which is my favorite, but who could really pick?

I’m sure that it was a difficult feat for Disney music historian and Grammy Award winning producer, Randy Thornton.  “From the Studio’s earliest days, music has always been an integral part of the Disney creative process.  But when ‘Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf’ debuted in 1933, it began a musical legacy that remains unmatched to this day — probably the most recognizable and beloved song catalog in the world.  Even though the musical styles range from inspiring ballads, novelty songs, folk, rock, to Broadway show-tunes, Disney Music is a genre in and of itself.”  I don’t think I could have said it better myself.  Thornton’s correct, Disney songs are probably some of the most recognizable songs.  It spans generations and can garner the same attention and reactions from both the young and old alike.

As an added bonus, when you purchase the box set, you will receive the “Disney Classics Medley” from  the YouTube a capella sensations Alex G and Peter Hollens as a download.  Seriously, if you have a couple minutes this is a much watch video!  The Disney Classics box set is available wherever music is sold (and on itunes!)

Jake and The Neverland Pirates CD “Yo Ho Matey” out October 15th!

It was a Pirate Play Date at the Cammo Style Love house last week!!

We hosted several friends for a lunch date and a Pirate Party!

The kids had so much fun listening to the CD, going on treasure hunts and playing with playdough.  We ate lunch and the mommies discussed current children’s television programming options.  I was happily able to discuss Jake with several mommies who hadn’t ever heard of Jake!  We are such fans of Jake here, that that was an easy thing to do.

The kids especially loved loved dressing up with the Pirate Patches, and EVERYONE  got in on the action!!

Want your own chance to party like a pirate?!  You have the chance to win a copy of the CD!  Good Luck!

The Legend of Kung Fu Rabbit is another great film brought to you by Lionsgate.  We here in the Cammo Love house are big fans of anything martial arts related right now.  My two oldest are in Tae Kwon Do, so we have been spending some time checking out board breaking and the like on YouTube.  The story is sweet and it definitely teaches the lessons of honesty and perseverance.  But what I really liked about the film was the animation.  It seemed more like a beautifully written storybook in the an animated feature.  It looked more like it was hand-painted, rather then stark computer animation.  The colors are beautiful, especially in the dream sequence.  My eight year old wasn’t as interested in this as my almost five year daughter was.

There is martial arts violence and use of weaponry.  The Dove Foundation (which this film gave its seal of approval) recommends this film for 12+.  You can visit the Dove Foundation’s website to see a more broken down description of why they suggested the age range.  It is very comparable to many other animated films out there, so the rating seems a little high in my opinion.

Click below to see some clips from the movie and a short interview
with Rebecca Black and John Heder

And its your lucky day, I have a copy of the movie to giveaway, thanks to the awesome people at Lionsgate!  Good Luck and thanks for stopping by.

LaLa-Oopsies Brand New Movie! *Review*

I am absolutely thrilled to share with you the brand new LaLa-Oopsies Movie, from Lionsgate Media,  with you today.  If you have never heard of LaLa-Oopsies (I don’t know how that’s possible if  you a little girl between the ages of 4 and 10) then this is a perfect introduction for you.  We had the pleasure of taking a sneak-peak at the new DVD, A Sew Magical Tale

From the creators of Lalaloopsy™ comes a sew magical movie with Lala-Oopsies: A Sew Magical Tale – The Movie! Experience a whimsical land of ballerinas, fairies, mermaids and more when Lala-Oopsies: A Sew Magical Tale.  In this fun adventure, the Lala-Oopsies must work together with their fantastical friends to save their home when their magical world is turned upside down.

Journey beyond the rolling green hills of Lalaloopsy Land to a magical place never seen before to meet the Lala-Oopsies! On islands that float on strawberry milk rivers, surrounded by tall mushroom trees, live the whimsical Lala-Oopsies, princess ballerinas, fairies and mermaids. Join the magical creatures as they embark on a fantastical journey to save their precious homes when the strawberry milk, which powers Lala-Oopsies Land, suddenly stops flowing.

My daughter carried around for several days just looking at the pictures on it.  Watching the DVD was the highlight of her day, she was so excited!  As a mom I was excited too.  The Lala-Oopsies are something that I don’t worry about my daughter watching.  I don’t have to monitor it, for fear something might slip in, like you do so many cartoons out there.  The story lines are all about friendship, caring, politeness and all the things you want to teach your children.

As you can see, one of the greatest things about these characters is how they look.  Aren’t they darling?!  The colors are vibrant, and they really pull the children in.  Ami’s favorite part about this movie was the introduction of the mermaids and fairies.  She had never seen these before in the cartoon.  Mermaids are a her favorite thing right now, so that made this movie all the better in her book.  The DVD features two mini adventures as well, which really makes it worth it to me.  Having the movie also encourages her imaginative play.  We are also the proud owners of several of the little LaLa-Oopsie toys (which are a reasonable price as well).  So not only does she use the toys to mimic the movie, but I caught her having a magical strawberry milk tea party the other day.  The whole line is a welcome addition in my home, and I would highly recommend the LaLa-Oopsies for your daughter as well.

5 out of 5 Stars

LaLa-Oopsies A Sew Magical Tale premiered on DVD, Digital Download and On Demand, September 3rd.  It is available for $14.98, however one reader has the chance to win a copy of their very own!

Before you go check out the trailer for the A Sew Magical Tale movie below, and the rafflecopter!  Do as many of the entries as you’d like.  Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

Bounce Back and the New Social Media Powerhouse

The blogging community is a pretty cool one, although I may be biased.  Some of the most amazing people I know I met through the blogging and volunteering work, and sometimes both.  It is a source of friendship building and discovery.  The things that I’ve learned about from my fellow blogging pals, from blogs in general, as well as the information I’ve gone to blogs to find, is crazy.  The power that blogs can wield is astounding at times.  You might have seen me blog, tweet and facebook about the upcoming Indie project The Bounce Back.  (My first blog post can be read here

I was so completely thrilled to be a part of this campaign from the very beginning.  First of all I jumped on board because my awesome friend Erica was heading it up, she’s a fellow milspouse.  But secondly, ummm hello..its Shemar Moore.  I’m a huge fan, mostly from his Criminal Minds acting….I’m a complete Crime Show nerd.  So this post is part introduction and part update.  As of today, right now, we have well exceeded our originial goal of $500,000.  We are at $605,810!!  How incredible is that?!  There was a part of me that was just wondering how this was going to be accomplished.  I remember hearing about the Veronica Mars thing and just being blown over.  I mean, these are just regular every day people who have a passion about something like a tv show.  It can seem silly when you just say it like that, but people know what they want.  How many movies and tv shows get made and you’re thinking, “What, really?!”  This was the chance to get something made because people wanted it to be made!!  We’ve set some records people!!  The Bounce Back is the #1 funded movie on indegogo and look at these stats for crowdfunded projects:

1. Veronica Mars Film – Kickstarter – $5.7M – campaign ended 91,585 funders

2. Wish I Were Here – Zach Braff – Kickstarter $3.1 M – campaign ended – 46,520 funders

3. Road Hard – Adam Corrolla – FundAnything $837,5K (campaign still running) – 8,571 funders

4. The Bounce Back Film – Indiegogo – $551.2K (campaign still running) – over 3000 funders

Fourth of all time?!  What?!!  The power of the people my friend, the power of the people.  So, today I wanted to share with you that this power is going to be taken to a whole new level, with the creation of the Entertainment New Media Network.   Blessed, isn’t really the word for it, but to be a part of something new like this is exciting!  My new boss said it best:

There truly is power in numbers, and in Hollywood numbers are power. Entertainment New Media Network is where the two meet.  -Erica I. Pena-Vest

I get to be a part of a new network of bloggers that are working on entertainment-related campaigns; proving that there are power in numbers and that this power lies with regular people who have grabbed hold of a vision and gone for a ride!!!

If you’re just hearing about this campaign…welcome..check it out and see if you want to be involved, contribute, whatever.  Ask me questions!!  I’d love to answer them.  And let me know what you think about the project.  Have you watched the video about it?  Are you a Shemar fan?  What do you think about the power of social media?
