How Irish are You? Noble, The Movie #SheIsNoble

The quiz and giveaway are made possible by the new film, NOBLE, about Christina Noble, an Irishwoman who’s saved over 700,000 orphans in Vietnam. Deirdre O’Kane and Brendan Coyle (Mr. Bates on Downtown Abbey) star in the award-winning film.

After seeing the trailer for this movie, man, its going to be a tear-jerker. I want to read the book too. What an incredible story. I think its wonderful that it is being shared as a movie….and seriously, Mr. Bates? Sign me up!! Has anyone else heard of this or read the book yet? I want to hear all about it if you have.
Visit the Movie Website to learn more about the #SHEISNOBLE campaign
While we are waiting for the movie to come out I have a few things to keep us all preoccupied.
First – Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Take this fun quiz to see how Irish you are! http://thenoblemovie.com/how-irish-are-you/
I know I have some Irish in me. I began research on it and have it partially completed. Once the kids are a little older I hope to dive back into that!

And Secondly, I have an amazing cool prize pack for you to win. The Noble Movie prize pack features some awesome items signed by Brenden Coyle (Mr. Bates) himself, and a World of Downton Abbey hardback book. Good luck!

Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day *giveaway*

Who as a kid remembers this book? I know I do.  I think its part of every kid’s growing up, or it should be anyhow. When Disney announced that they were doing a movie based off this book I was super excited. It has an allstar cast and I believe my eight year old would think this movie is hilarious!  If by some crazy reason you do not know about this fantabulous book and movie, here’s a little run down for you:

Alexander’s day begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by more calamities. Though he finds little sympathy from his family and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him, his mom, dad, brother, and sister all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
In celebration I have some really fun movie swag to give away! To win simply leave a comment telling me either your favorite children’s book to movie adaptation or what book you’d love to see turned into a movie.

Good Luck!!!

Finding Time for You in the Midst of it All

**This is a sponsored post, brought to you by Simple Skin Care – reminding milspouses to remember to take some time for you and be encouraged….you are not alone.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.  I was given product to review and items to giveaway.

As I sit here in my hotel room, thinking about me and taking some time isn’t really high on my list.  I had this whole thing planned out for this post.  And then Murphy came to town.  You know him, Murphy is feared by all MilSpouses.  Its a joke but, for reals yo…..its real!!  This last week we had some unexpected, emergency, repairs that needed to take place in our bathroom.  The first fun part is that we only have one.  The second fun part, and where the whole Murphy thing comes in, is the hubby is gone.  Yup, he’s gone and won’t be back for a whole other week.  So here I am, having our most recent move flash-backs (when we lived in a hotel for weeks!!) in a hotel room with my sweet precious children, trying to write a post about taking time for myself.

What I do know, is that even in the midst of upheavel, you can keep some things going that remind you of home.  Keep as much of the routine as possible and that always makes transition easier.  Coming from someone who has had to experience more than their fair share of “transitions”, that’s the golden rule right there.  I had always been a fan of Simple Skin Care’s cleansing cloths, but thanks to Simple I’ve been able to try out their new moisterizer and eye make-up remover.  Keeping a routine in taking care of me is important.  That time at night where I’m going through the motions of taking off my make-up and washing my face is my moment to decompress.  In one of my previous posts about skin-care you may have already read that Simple is a brand I alread love and recommend.  I can safely say the same goes for these new products.  The make-up remover is amazing!  That has always been the hardest thing for me to find, a quality product that did leave an oily residue.  Two thumbs up here.  The moisterizer has also proven effective.  It is light and airy, and it carries the Simple standard of clean and simple (hence the name).  While I generally use moisturizers that have anti-aging qualities in them, this is a time fresh alternative for night time.

                                                         my view currently
So here I find myself, not really knowing how long we’ll be in the situation, making the most it.  Taking some time for me currently consists of hiding under the covers after bedtime, with the my earphones in, watching Netflix…no judgement right?! *wink*
Thanks to the Simple Skin Care people I get to pass on a little joy by giving away a $25.00 Commissary gift card.  So light a relaxing candle, open up your favorite book, put on a fuzzy robe and enter to win!!

On the Road with Sophia The First: Songs from Enchancia *review &giveaway*

We’re in the car a lot.  Between my need to get out of the house and all the other normal errands, taking kids places stuff one can do in any given week….well, we are out of the house a lot.  We have portable tvs in our car, but those don’t come out of the car unless we are going on road trips longer than an hour.  My go to for the day to day is music, preferably the classical music station.  So when I received the opportunity to try out Sophia the First’s new cd Songs from Enchancia.  I was thrilled.  Not only do I have music fans in the house, but I have a five year old daughter.  A match made in heaven.

This is CD has tons of tracks, which makes this mama happy.  If I’m going to pay money for music for my kids I defintiely want to get my money’s worth.  The coolest thing about the CD is that it has four karaoke tracks on it, perfect for you little ones to belt away and be the star of their show.  Sophia the First is a wonderful little cartoon, good classic fun, and Disney really delivers by including all the favorites from Season 1- Sisters and Brothers, The Love We Share, A Recipe for Adventure and Bigger is better.

Definitely our favorite was the karaoke tracks.  Its perfect for dancing and playing, even if you don’t want to sing.  This has become something that we keep on during the day as we are playing and doing our chores.  We’ve been doing it for a week now and are still enjoying it.  Occassionaly my daughter will ask to take it in the car and I’m cool with that.
Thank you Disney!!!

You can purchase this album now on Amazon, itunes and other similar retailers.  However, three lucky peeps are going to win a copy of their very own!  Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

I received a product in exchange for my honest opinion and thoughts.  This review and giveaway is in partnership with my membership in Entertainment New Media Network.  I was not compensated in any other way.
