WELCOME TO REWIND 365!  Today, a year ago, we were driving around DC for the first time, snapping pics, taking in the sights and sounds!  I loved every second of it.  It was that day that I realized how close we were to everything and how weird it felt when it hit me.  As were were driving into the city we had to drive by the Pentagon.  Its right there, like literally right next to the freeway.  At first we were like, “what is that?” and then when the realization hit us both we couldn’t believe it.  Everything feels so small to me still.  I don’t know if its because I”m an adult and not a kid, or its partially the fact that there are no tall buildings, and so many of the buildings have been there forever, when things were just smaller.  It really doesn’t feel like a city to me, it feels like a small town.  I know that is so weird, but its true.  It doesn’t feel as overwhelming and scary as I would have imagined.

Rewind 365 – January 24th

Happy Thursday ya’ll!!  I’m so glad you’re here.  I love this linky and I’m thrilled to be a host for it.  Remembering where you were a year ago, taking the time to reflect on how far you’ve come in a year is just so much fun.  So, where was I a year ago today?

We were at the Knoxville Zoo.  It was one of our final stops on our journey East!  I can’t believe its almost been a year since we’ve been in our home here.  Its kind of ridiculous how quickly time flies by.  Wow!  The kids and I decided to visit the Knoxville Zoo while Mr. Airforce went and changed the oil in the car and ran some pertinent errands.  I wish he could have come with us because it really was a neat zoo.  There was a whole indoor play area, with all sorts of dress up, and different theme play sections.  There were slides, chickens and bunny rabbits.   The animals there were really great and I loved how the exhibits were set up.  You felt really close to all of the animals.  My favorite was the red pandas, so little and adorable.  Did you see how little Phillip was then?

Air Force Academy, Colorado, Rewind 365

Rewind 365 – January 16, 2013

Welcome to Rewind 365!  This is a recently resurrected blog hop started by one of my dear bloggy friends over at Mommy Only Has Two Hands.  I am so excited to a part of it with her.  When I first discovered it, this hop quickly became one of  my favorites.  A good excuse to go back a year and see how far you come – I’ll take it!  Some weeks this really helped me to gain perspective and just remember.

So, what was I doing a year ago today.   
We were with our amazingly amazing friends in Colorado.  They are really family to us.  My husband grew up with him, and his parent’s are my hubby’s God Parents.  Its really great that we were able to see them and spend a day or two with them.  They were able to see our newest addition when he was little and we had a wonderful free place to stay.  
 The kids’ Uncle wowed them by making some fancy pancakes!

 We were able to see the Air Force Academy.  Definitely something on our bucket list!

 a little hike from the car to the chapel and museum

Rewind 365

Rewind 365 – January 3rd

Plunging right into the New Year with some consistent posting!  Go me.  That’s what happens when you have a hubby who just happens to be putting a lot of hours in…which mostly means I stay up late because the littles keep me busy during the day time hours.

So what was I doing at the beginning of 2012?  Gosh, it seems like forever ago, but I do know that means we are quickly approaching one year here in the DC area.

Happy Thursday ya’ll. I’m so sorry that I’ve been a little AWOL. You wouldn’t even believe the last several weeks. I will post all the ridiculous details soon. But for now let’s have some fun. Please spread the word about this fun linky.

A year ago today my mommy was at my house in Reno helping me pack and bringing me some stuff from her house.  I was so thankful she came and helped!  Ami was being Ami and my little Phillip was almost two months old.  It feels so much longer than a year ago.
