Dreaming of Summer with Carolina Clover

The weather here in DC is toying with me…is it warm or cold? Should I be wearing shorts or a parka? While part of me is ready for the heat, I know that I’m not really remembering the humidity that comes along with it. One of the lovely things that I have had to adjust to living here on the East Coast. But what I am longing for is the beach, summer day trips to the city, spending time with my kids doing anything but sitting in a classroom all darn day! Playing, swimming, jumping on the trampoline. All of the fun things in life!!!

And what do you need for a successful summer? An adorable pineapple bag with a monogram silly!!!

I love this bag so much!!! It is the perfect size for a day trip beach outing! I could see myself throwing snacks or lunch in it. It could be the towel bag, you could wet stuff in it no problem! It fits all the way over my shoulder WITHOUT falling off, which is a huge deal!! And all my purse-shopping ladies totally get it.

what would summer be without a little silly fun?

It sits up without any problems, but isn’t rough and stiff. It’s semi-reinforced bottom is awesome!! and the smaller inside zip pocket is perfect to hold your id, money and keys in, for a day at the beach!

If you’re looking for a bag like this check out Carolina Clover for some amazing and adorable patterns, or snag this pineapple one for yourself! Plus, if you’re looking to make all your monogram dreams come true, look no further than Carolina Clover!!

What’s Up with Summer?! Making Memories!!

Where did summer go and why must it be over so quickly? I look at my blog and I’m thinking, “So, did I really post at all?” I had these grand plans, but I quickly realized that summer is ridiculously crazy! This summer we opted for Swim and Dive Team, which meant that every morning at the crack of dawn we were up and at the pool. It was a great experience for the kids and they loved it. I was so impressed by all that they accomplished in this first year. And despite my desires to do a huge laundry list of things this summer, I didn’t and that is okay. At first I didn’t think it was okay. I was frustrated and annoyed! But I realized that this is a season, a relatively short season of life and one that should be embraced. The looks on their faces when they saw me watching or cheering for them was so wonderful. But the give and take for that is maybe a little bit less time spent on myself than when school is in session. Three kids, going three different directions and a very busy hubby!!!

But like I said, it is for a season; and these are amazing memories that we are creating!!! For that I am thankful. And even if I wasn’t doing exactly what I thought I wanted to be doing; or what my planner had in it, or my famous lists – I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

Sunday Social Week 65 – Summer Time!

Another week down, and another week begins.  Is it just me or does time seem to be flying this summer?  What is going on?  My oldest is going to start first grade if you can believe that.  I certainly can’t.  It’s been a whirlwind of craziness and fun this summer.  And what a perfect way to bring the summer to close by participating in a summer themed Sunday Social!  If you’ve never participated in a Sunday Social you really should.  It’s a lot of fun and I’ve discovered so many blogs that way.  It’s great stuff.  Sit back, relax and link-up yourself.

Sunday Social

1. What was your favorite activity/trip of the summer?

most definitely our trip back home to California.  It’s been a year and a half since I’ve been home.  My mom and my in-laws have been to visit since we moved, but I  haven’t been home.  It was a whirwind of craziness and fun…soaking up each moment.  It ended way too fast, but isn’t that always how it goes?

2. What was your favorite outfit/clothing look this summer?

Oh man!  That’s hard.  I felt like I had a really good summer.  Whether its because I’m finally into the whole having the money to change to with the trends, feeling good about myself, or the whole East Coast things I’m not sure.  It’s probably a combination of the two, but it was a really good summer for me 🙂

3. What is the one thing you wish you’d gotten to do this summer?

more beach time.  Hubby was traveling a lot this summer, and it just didn’t happen.  We went to the beach in California, but I really wanted to try to make it down to the beach here in Virginia.  Maybe it will still happen.  Just because summer is done doesn’t mean the party is over!

4. Favorite song of the summer?

I had to look up the summer songs to make sure I wasn’t talking about an old song that I just loved this summer!  Or maybe that does count, I don’t know.  But did you see this list?  I seriously don’t like any of the songs or this list.  Really, the summer anthem is between these?  what?!!

I think I’m going to say either “Come and Get It” by Selena Gomez or “Cruise” by Florida Georgia

5. Favorite movie/tv of the summer?

Gosh, well definitely was super happy that Perception and Rizzoli and Isles were back on the for the summer.  I hate waiting a whole year for them to come back!!  Drives me nuts.  And then I feel like they are over just like that.

Movie..gosh, The Heat was hilarious!!  Two of my favorite funny ladies – Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.  Seriously, it is soooooo funny!  Have you seen it?  You should.

Have a great sunday!  If you’ve got some spare time, myself and some other amazing Military Mom blogs were named the 50 best Military Mom Blogs by VoiceBoks.  Find my name and vote for me, or if you see a name on the list of another blog you love vote for them…but vote for someone!!!

A Year Ago Today

Most every Thursday I try to take a look back on what we were doing a year ago today (or around the day).  If you want to grab the button and post your own feel free and let me know you did!  Thanks for stopping by.

Look at my little munchkins!  Where does time go?  We were clearly enjoying our summer time.  We spent a good majority of it outside…we were adjusting to the humidity and the bugs.  For heaven’s sake, the bugs!  It is absolutely ridiculous.  I mean, holy smokes.  This summer is much, much better.  The bugs are a smidge less annoying, we’re getting bitten less and the humidity is bearable.  However, I’m pretty sure the humidity is just not as bad this year.  We haven’t had 100degrees days this year, I don’t think ever.  Maybe once or twice…maybe.  But its been a fairly mild summer.  I’m interested to see what that means for our winter.  My kids were rather disappointed in our winter.  There just wasn’t a  lot of snow.  So maybe this year there will be some more snow days for us.

What were you doing a year ago today?
