Sunday Social, Week 88 – Movies and TV

This week I’m preparing for Entertainment New Media Network’s Conference in Anaheim.  It’s going to be an amazing week, an intense learning experience, but an awesome one.  I can’t wait to share all the details with you all.  Make sure you are following along on my instagram and twitter, as well as with the hashtag #ENMNCon14.

Lets get on with the fun!

This week’s topic is all about TV and Movies. They were tough ones, but good.  I’m excited to read everyone’s ideas.  I always get the best ideas from all the blogs I read, whether it be music or tv, clothes, make-up.  That’s one of the reasons I love blogging.

1. What is your favorite thing to watch on Girl’s Night?

Definitely a chick flick – and it doesn’t matter what kind.  I’m all sappy love stories, romantic comedies…or Magic Mike, which kinda doesn’t fit into a category now does it.  Seriously just can’t believe I admitted that on my blog.  Yes, I watched it.  Oiy!!

2. What is Your Favorite Thing to Watch on Your Day Off?

Lets see, usually whatever I happen to be binge watching on Netflix.  Right now I’m watching Dallas, Vampire Diaries, Wings and One Tree Hill.  It rotates so that I don’t get too sick of one show.  Usually when the kids are napping, or playing solo I’ll sneak away to my room to get some blogging work done and watch a couple shows.  When hubbies around on his day off we watch Seinfeld or Fraiser.

3. What is your favorite thing to watch when you’re sick?

Most of the time I stick with the above, unless its really plot heavy.  Then I’ll put on something fun,or something I know well.  Usually that means New Girl, Gilmore Girls, Psych (I watched that the last time I was sick).  Or maybe I would put on a good old black and white movie – an Alfred Hitchcock or something like that.

4. What was the last movie you saw in Theater?

Actually this past week we took the kids to see The Nut Job (with Will Arnett,  Brendan Fraiser and Liam Niesson as voices).  It was pretty darn cute, and the kids like it.

5. What are your Top 3 favorite Movies or TV shows?

Gosh darnit, there is always a ridiculously hard question involved in these link-ups isn’t there.  This is so hard, how am I supposed to pick?!  The list would be a million miles long for sure, but who has the time for that.  So I’ll do the best I can here.

Movies: 1) While You Were Sleeping 2) Sleepless in Seattle 3) Alfred Hitchcock movies – they can count as one last one right? a) The Lady Vanishes b) Rope c) Shadow of a Doubt

TV: 1) Gilmore Girls 2) Law and Order (the original) and 3) Monk

Man that was hard!!!!

Looking forward to reading people’s responses and following some new blogs!

If you are following for the first time, make sure to let me know.  I love hearing from you.

The Sunday Social, Week 86

This is a girly one too!!  It’s time for The Sunday Social, and in particular I am loving this week’s questions.  It’s always a fun link-up for sure, but some weeks just have a special oomph to them if you know what I mean.  This just happens to be one of those weeks.

1. How old were you when you started wearing make-up.

I don’t actually remember.  I wanna say I started wearing just a little bit in Junior High.  By the time I hit high school I was buying my own and pretty much taking it from there.  My mom sold Mary Kay for years, so I was in the home of a make-up expert.  My sister and I have gone on and lived up to that legacy…frequently being asked to do friends make-up for weddings and I did several proms.  We love make-up  that’s for sure.

2. What are your top 3 beauty products?

Funny you should ask that.  I’m part of a Blogging Challenge with a ton of bloggers this year, and last week’s topic was in fact skin care.  So why re-invent the wheel.  If you click over to it you will actually find five of my favorite beauty products listed.

3. What is one make-up product you don’t leave home without?

Mary Kay® NouriShine Plus® Lip Gloss
I love this stuff!  I actually have several shades and they are always in my purse.
You can purchase them here if you don’t have a consultant (from my awesome sister who is a rock star consultant)
4. What is your daily beauty routine?
I very rarely leave the house without make-up on, or having done my routine and a minimal amount of make-up.  You think I’m kidding, but you should see my right after I delivered my baby pictures, LOL.  It’s kind of ridiculous…but once I get that epidural baby I am putting that make-up on.  It just makes me feel good.

eye make-up, blush and all! LOL
Its the same for morning and evening – cleanse with either a face wash (Mary Kay Botanicals) or a cleansing pad (Simple or Ponds).  Then I put on my day or night anti-aging moisturizer serum (almost Mary Kay – TimeWise Collection).  Depending on what is going on sometimes I will use a cover-up, primer, and BB Cream.  Then whatever make-up I am going to use.  At night, its the same, except I also use a separate cleansing pad for eye make-up and mascara (tough little devils aren’t they).
5. What is your favorite hair/make-up product you’ve discovered in the last year?
It was by total accident and not because I actually bought it, that I discovered my new favorite product.  Sometimes as a blogger you get to try cool things, and Influenster sent me my very first BB Cream.  I had heard all about it and just assumed it was another crazy thing.  Some fad that would come and go.  Well, I’m a convert.  I love the stuff.  It goes on great, smells good, feels good and has all but eliminated my need for primer and traditional foundations on most days.  seriously the stuff is amazing.  I’m kind of excited to see what it will do for my skin in the long term, but it’s always hard to tell that stuff in the beginning anyway.

The Sunday Social, Week 85

Make sure to come back on Tuesday for the Inagural Re-Unveiling (did you like that?!) of Rewind 365 here on Cammo Style Love.  Come back on the third Tuesday of every month when we take a look back at where we were a year ago that week – include your pictures, stories, whatever!  It’s going to be so fun.

Now, onto the the Social!

1. Top Three Favorite Kinds of Food

I love food, so for reals how do you pick only three?  Number one would be Chicken, because you can do anything with chicken and its amazing.  Two would have to be pizza, because its pizza and its awesome.  I found some yummy gluten free pizza so now i’m okay.  Bread I can do without, the brownies and cookies are yummy, but I was really worried about finding good pizza.  Mission accomplished so I’m good to go now.  Three would have to be potatoes – mashed, baked, twice baked or sweet.  Yummy!

2.  First Three Things You do In the Morning?

On a school day I start my coffee, wake up my oldest and then check my email while I’m waiting for him to drag himself out of bed.  We both happen to be not morning people.  Oiy, morning people.  LOL

3.   Last Three Things You Do at Night?

Brush teeth, set my alarm and say I Love You.  We always say I love You as the very last words….that is when he’s home.

4. Three TV Shows You Never Miss?

Duh!

It’s so good and I hope it lasts!!!  I love it.

It’s mine and Mr. Air Force’s show that we always watch together.  I record them and when he’s around we usually marathon them.

5. Three Places You Want to Visit

 – Prince Edward Island.  It’s kind of a whole Anne of Green Gables, from my childhood thing.

 – This is a beautiful church in Newmarket, Suffolk, UK.  My mom used to live there and I’ve always wanted to visit it.  Basically anywhere in the UK is cool by me.

St Mary: the best of Newmarket.

 – Venice – seriously how beautiful is this place.  Only picking three places is really hard, but it’s a start.

6.  Three people I can always count on
That is too hard.  These last two years have had a lot of ups and downs and a lot of friends that have hung in there with me even when I was at my lowest, totally detached and things like that.  More friends than three that’s for sure.  My family is always there for me and that’s more than three right there.  Katie, Katy, Jamie, Holly, Toni, Tori, Sarah…way too many to count.  I tell you i couldn’t have made it without them, even though I didn’t even realize they were there.
Okay, now that I’m crying….
Can’t wait to read everyone’s responses this week

The Sunday Social, Week 80

Sunday Social

Welcome to my little portion of the Sunday Social link-up.  If you happen to stumble upon my blog and you’ve never done a Sunday Social, you are missing out!  Go, quick and join in the fun!  If you are a regular and you made your way here, yay! Thank you!  Please check things out, let me know what you think, leave me your info so that I can follow you (if I don’t already).  I also have an awesome giveaway going on – a digital copy of this amazing fitness book, as well as a $25 Amazon gift card.

Now, onto the good stuff!
1.  What is your favorite holiday season tradition? I don’t even know how to pick just one.  If you were to ask some of my closest friends and family they would probably tell you that I am crazy nuts over tradition.  I love old things, things that have been done before…passed down.  They are warm and comfy, like sitting in front of a fireplace with hot cocoa and a good book (you know the paper kind, not the digital kind).  I would be willing to bet that anyone that can’t be with their families around a holiday feels the same way.  Traditions are like home…and now that I’ve wandered down this rambling path…its probably a safe bet that there are too many to name.
parades, gingerbread houses, making and decorating cookies, decorating the tree together with Christmas music playing, Santa Claus, Nativity..and the list goes on.
2. Do you have a certain holiday movie you watch more than others? This would probably fall under the tradition question, at least with  my family.  White Christmas, Holiday Inn, The Bishop’s Wife and Miracle on 34th Street are the top ones.
3. Show us your favorite decoration, or Pinterest decoration, you wish you could have. I really really really want a beautiful wooden advent.  I always scour the shelves after Christmas to see if any are on super clearance.

4. What is your favorite holiday song?  Hands down The Carol of the Bells…oh man, I love it.

this is obviously a crazy rockin’ version, but I love it!
5. What is your favorite holiday dessert? I’m not really sure if it’s really a holiday dessert..although I’m not sure what that means…but I like my good ole fashioned Apple and Pumpkin Pies.
6. What is on your wish list this year? This year I didn’t really think about it.  Hubby and I plan on getting a tv for our bedroom finally.  It is supposed to be our gift to each other things year for Christmas, but knowing him there will probably be something else under the tree, while I’m all good and behave *evil laugh* and not get him anything.
Thanks for stopping by!  I can’t wait to see what you all have to say and maybe find some new blogs!!
