Sunday Social Week 79

Time for one of my favorite times of week!  Sunday Social with Ashley Lately and A Complete Waste of Make-up!

Sunday Social

1. What is the wallpaper on your cell phone?

2. What do you keep beside your bed?
I keep the books I’m reading and water.  Right now I’ve got tissues and cold medicine there.  Hopefully
that will be done soon.  I am so over this cold!
3. What is your least favorite chore?
Definitely the dishes.  I hate doing dishes.  Its so silly because I have a dishwasher.  But I hate it!!  If Mr. AirForce really wants to show me he loves me he will do the dishes for me when he’s off.  Love it!!  Putting away laundry runs a close second, but just the putting away part.
4. If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be?
probably the whole contacts/glasses thing.  If I could get lasik that would be freaking awesome!
5. What do you do to vent anger?
clean usually, or call my mom.  If I start organizing, hubby’s always like, “okay, what’s going on?!”

6. What is your favorite holiday of the year and why?
That’s tough.  4th of July is right at the top of the list.  I love getting together with friends and family, going to a parade, fireworks.  Its so much fun! Next is Christmas, for probably the obvious reasons.  The tree, the smells, cuddling up with snow and reading a book.

Can’t wait to see what everyone else has to say and find some new blogs!!!!

Sunday Social

Once again its time for the amazing Sunday Social from Ashely Lately and A Complete Waste of Make-Up!  Last weeks was so awesome and I had some great comments here and found some great ladies!  Love it.  Seriously, this is the best link-up.  If you’re new to Cammo Style Love, thank you so much for stopping by.  Check out my Hunger Games giveaway, all my revamped support tabs up top – if you know someone in the military spread the word.  I also do a lot of book reviews, so if you’re looking for a book check out Rhe’s Bookshelf up top.

now onto the fun!!!

1. Name 4 jobs you’ve had in your life.
I was in retail about this amazing little shop on the main street of an “old town” part of a city.  we sold dolls, swarovski crystal, figurines and stuff like that.  It was first job and it was my very very favorite.  It really was the best job ever.  I was probably at least 40 years younger than anyone else that worked there but it was such a fun time.

Dance Instructor

Courtesy Clerk (grocery bagger)

Bakery worker/cake decorator

legal assistant/admin

2. Name 4 movies you would watch over and over.

Sleepless In Seattle
While You Were Sleeping
Meet Me in St. Louis
Rear Window
3. Name 4 places you have lived.

California (although several house)
4. Name 4 of your favorite foods.

Chicken Enchiladas
Hawaiian Pizza
most anything Italian
this was a hard question….I love everything!
5. Name 4 things you always carry with you.

6. Name 4 places you have been on vacation.

Maui, Hawaii

i don’t have a lot of photos because well, I’m old, and digital cameras were really expensive
nine years ago when we got married 🙂  LOL

Savannah, GA

Summer in Savannah and I was seven months pregnant with Ami!

Indianapolis/St. Paul, MN

Oklahoma City, OK

Oklahoma City in 2007!  feels so long ago.  It was our first vacation away from Brian.  He
was one.  It was a really neat city, and I’m glad we got the chance to go.  I don’t think
we would have ever had a reason to go there if it hadn’t been for the military.  Seeing the
Oklahoma City bombing memorial was a memorable experience.

Can’t wait to read everyone’s posts!  make sure to leave a comment for me so I can find you!

thank you so much for stopping by!

Sunday Social Week 74

It’s a new week ya’ll!  Mr. Air Force is off gallivanting around, doing super awesome Mr. Air Force things.  My oldest has two days off from school, one of which he gets to spend at his Tae Kwon Do dojang for a day camp.  The weather is finally starting to turn around here so it’s time for me to pull out of my awesome mommy arsenal of cold-weather fun.  And, believe it or not I downloaded a 10k program.  I can not believe I’m enjoying this running thing so much.  If you would have told me that I wouldn’t have believed you.  Can’t wait to hear about everyone’s week; and as always, make sure to let me know if you’re a new follower so i can return the favor!

Sunday Social

1. What is currently on your wish list?
For the last two years I have been on a ridiculous hunt for boots.  I want cute boots that won’t break the bank!  I’m going for a riding boot style, which not much of a heel, that I can dress up or down.  Everytime I see them they either aren’t in my size or they are on someone else that got them the year before, or on super clearance.  As you can see I’m slightly obsessed.  This will be the year though baby!!!
2. Share a new iPhone, droid, iPad app that you have recently discovered that we all need.
So there are a couple that I’ve found recently – Winery Passport – find all the wineries nearby, store information about them, favorite wines, connect with friends.  Cardholder – I put all my business cards I get from all my networking events.  Its amazing.  loads the card picture and the information in there automatically.  lastly, LoLo, 7 minute workouts.  not bad.
3. What is a new fall tv show that you have added to your dvr?
Super Fun Night – it had a rough start but its getting better.  I also started watching Reign, on the CW.  Totally a historical flub, and a cheesy teen damage…but I love it.  Its one of those fluff type shows.  However, right now I’m obsessed with Hart of Dixie.  I’m playing catch up on Netflix right now.
4. Share your social media links so we can follow you. (Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, etc) Tell us which is your favorite and why.
Not sure how to pick a favorite!  But I think either Pinterest (for clear and obvious reasons) and Instagram

5. What is a tv show, movie, or song that you could watch or listen to over and over and never get tired of?
Gosh, While You Were Sleeping, Sleepless in Seattle for movies.  Seinfeld and Fraiser, The Bob Newhart Show…..The Songs about Jane album from Maroon 5, All American Rejects self-titled first album….I’ve got some sentimental ones too, but there’s so many to add!    That was a good question.  I can’t wait to read everyone’s responses.

Thanks for another great week Ashley!  Check out some of my recent posts here and here!  You can see the pics from our Homecoming earlier this year and read about my newest volunteer project, and maybe you can help!

1. What do you value most in life?

I am so blessed to have so much in my life.  My God, my Family, my Friends and my Country.

2. What do you think the greatest invention in your life is?

Oh my heavens!  I have to say that facetime, skype and any of that new-fangled stuff that helps us stay in contact with Mr. Air Force when he’s off roaming around the countryside is pretty fantabulous!   I am fortunate enough, I believe, to have been in two separate communication generations.  I remember only having land lines to communicate with him, and letters and missing phone calls and being devastated.  HAVING to look at pictures of him because it would be eight months before I literally saw him again.  So blessed.

3. What do you think the secret to a good life is?

The secret to a good life truly is with the company you keep.  It truly is.  Laughter and love, and embracing the little things are so important.  I really have a hard times some time embracing the season that I’m in.  Sometimes it can be really difficult; but the times that I do, it’s amazing.

4. what would you like to be remembered for when you are gone?

I would really hope and pray that I would be remembered as someone that was there for her family and friends.  That I gave of myself to my church and my community.  That I was patriotic.  I think that is really what everyone hopes for.

5. What accomplishments in life are most proud of?

Definitely graduating from College, and doing it in four years.  Teaching dance and a lot of my choreography I am really proud of.  That was a big accomplishment for me.  I am also really proud of where my blog has taken me and what it has allowed me to do and give back to my extended military family.

I am so excited to see what everyone else has to say!  These were great questions this week.  Thank you Ashley and Neely!!!

Sunday Social, Week 69

Happy Sunday Ya’ll!  It’s another week.  Is it just me or is time flying by faster?  I’m not sure if its because I specifically don’t want it to, or life is super busy right now, or a combination of all of that.  Maybe I’m just old?  Needless to say we’re plugging along.  Is life flying for anyone else right now?  Before we get going make sure to check out the giveaway on the blog.  It’s a wonderful little animated children’s film, Legend of Kung Fu Panda!

Sunday Social

Time for my favorite linky, thanks Ashley Lately and A Complete Waste of Make-up.  Seriously, I can’t believe I missed last week.  It was all about purses…come on man!!!!

1. What is your dream job?

Well my degree is in Criminal Justice/Psychology.  There was a time where I wanted to be a sentence report writer.  Kind of the best of all worlds, a little police, a little law, a little investigative.  I would still love to do something like that, but being a mom is a pretty awesome job.  Right now though, being in DC, I feel like dream jobs surround me.  I would absolutely love to work in politics.  It would probably be a love/hate sort of deal; but if I could do something in the advocacy area for the military that would be awesome!  Maybe get paid to do some of the awesome volunteer work that I do.

2. If you won the lottery and didn’t need to work for money, what would you do with your time?

Definitely do more of volunteering and attending conferences and seminars so that I could educate myself more.  The hardest part for me is really the babysitting issue.  Mr. Air Force is gone quite a bit, so that can be really hard.  I have some amazing babysitters, but they do cost money.  I’m so thankful that he is so supportive of me and tries to make sure I do as much as I can.  However, I wish I could do more.

3. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?

So this is kind of funny.  If you happen to be expecting your first little one, surround yourself with those that are like minded in your parenting style and choices.  Supportive friends that will be there for you.  I have a few friends that I always go to to bounce stuff off of, or ask questions.  Many of our friends have similar parenting styles and we support each other in our decisions.

If you’re a blogger – get out there.  Jump in with both feet.  I started making friends, networking, talking about what I like.  You don’t necessarily have to find one specific niche, although there are many successful bloggers that talk about only one subject.  Keep it light and fun.  Whenever I start to get overwhelmed blogging is the first thing to go, in more then one respect.  I take a break for a day or two or else my blogging goes down hill.  I want to be on my A Game when I’m here.

If you are interested in more volunteering, find what your passionate about in life.  If you like working with kids, volunteer with kids; if you like animals, work at a shelter.  There’s nothing better then giving back and helping someone in need.  Who knows, maybe someday it might lead to a paid gig.  Volunteer work can not only be rewarding, it can be priceless experience.

4. What would be your ideal “just for fun” job?

probably something retail, like clothing (Old Navy maybe), or maybe a craft store.  Who needs a pay-check right?!

5. What was your first “real” job?

I’ve definitely had some awesome jobs.  I worked at a very awesome collectibles store in “old” part of town, it was so fun.  I was a dance teacher for awhile; but my first “real” job was at a law office.  It was pretty awesome – reception and errand runner, but I learned some cool things.

Can’t wait to read everyone’s responses.  Make sure to enter the giveaway mentioned above, and start checking out my updated resource tabs up top as well.  If you are military, or know someone in the military, hopefully they will be a great help.  I’m still working on growing the resources, but its a start!
