Win a t-shirt from The Bounce Back #TheBounceBack !!

Hi all!!  Hopefully by now you’ve heard a little bit about The Bounce Back.  If you’ve been following me on twitter, facebook or pinterest you might have seen me mention it a couple times (okay, maybe a lot of times!).  We are in the last couple days of this project, which is now the most funded film on Indiegogo, which is pretty darn cool.  I feel like this is another child.  I’ve been on this project for awhile now and its just truly amazing to see how it’s grown.  The people over at the film have kindly put together a huge giveaway, which you can check out here.

On my little ‘ole blog however you have the chance to win an exclusive t-shirt from the project!  Now you can show everyone that you were in on it from the beginning as well.  You still have some time to help this project meet it’s goal and take advantage of some of the “perks” there as well.  There are some pretty cool ones to snatch up, so head on over to the Indiegogo site.

disclaimer: I am being provided this opportunity in partnership with New Entertainment Media Network, and The Bounce Back film.  I am not being compensated in any way for this giveaway.  Any and all opinions expressed are my own and no one else’s.  Please seem Terms and Conditions for more information.

#ad The Bounce Back….cuz I’m a succor for a good romance

Disclaimer:  I was asked to participate in this campaign by the Bounce Back Film Campaign as part of a first-of-its-kind blogger initiative. I will cover the making of the movie from fundraising to premiere throughout the next year. I am being provided promotional material, giveaways and exclusive interviews but this is not a paid post. All opinions are my own.

Before I go any further, who here is a fan of Criminal Minds…..well, you happen to be reading the blog of the Number 1 fan…and the daughter of the Number 2 fan (Hi MOM!).  If you know the show, you know this adorable guy…

Meet Shemar Moore, the adorable Derek.  I am so excited to be a part of a new campaign with Shemar, for his new movie The Bounce Back.  Derek is a talented actor, who also appeared in Diary of a Mad Black Women, who is now adding Executive Producer to his resume with his new filmThe Bounce Back is the story of finding courage to love, and bounce back, after love has let you down.  I have been very fortunate in life, to have found my Mr. Air Force at only 15, and to be so lucky as to have found that “love of my life.”  But loss is something that everyone can relate to.  No one is immune to it.  It is probably the great equalizer.  We all know what that is like and all the emotion that goes along with it.  It can be hard to recover from sometimes.  Shemar is no different.  He connected with the story and decided to take this project on. You need to have passion behind a project in order for it to truly succeed.

Take a look at this sneak peak!

Shemar decided to harness that passion in the form of the fans.  I’m sure you all remember the huge media frenzy over the donations for a Veronica Mars movie.  It was crazy how a small grass roots effort took off.  The idea behind this is similar.  I think its pretty awesome, getting the fans involved.  It makes us feel connected to something that we wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to connect to.  That’s pretty freaking awesome.  I know that I’m a succor, not only for romance and Criminal Minds, but for Hollywood and all the fun, the glitz and the glamour.  I’m also a fan of the smaller budget films.  From my experience these are the ones with the passion, with the meaning behind them.  They aren’t necessarily about the glitz and the flash.  Its usually the story that matters.  When I had the opportunity to read more about The Bounce Back, and how the people connected with the film felt about it, I knew that I wanted to be able to take the time to share this with all of you.

“The Bounce Back” is a heartfelt romantic comedy about finding the courage to love after love has let you down.
When I read “The Bounce Back” – that very same issue was at the core of the script and the character, Matthew Taylor. I saw a lot of myself in Matthew, although I’ve never written a book (but I’m thinking about it now, hint, hint). I felt a kindred spirit to what Matthew was going through and my own life. Matthew loses his wife, his first love and after a short recovery creates a best selling book and a system of survival in order to shield himself from the pain.  He throws himself into a year long speaking tour.
That system of survival; his book and speaking tour, keeps him from falling in love again when he meets the perfect girl, the beautiful and zany Kristin Moreland. Matthew realizes that he has to renounce his book and the world he has created around it in order to take the big unknown plunge of letting himself fall in love again.

I think there is a wonderful poetry to that, the idea of risking it all for love. And I feel, in my heart, that is why we’re here on this planet. To love. After I put down the screenplay, “The Bounce Back,” I knew I had to make this movie simply because I believe in love all the way down to the fabric of my being.” — Shemar Moore
